Cupboard door hinges
FC 23FB. 2021. Our top cupboard door over the kitchen flops down rather than staying up when open. Any advice on how to adjust the hinges would be much appreciated. On the road at the moment and hundreds of miles from dealers etc.

Hi
I have a nasty suspicion that if it worked originally and does not work now that it needs replacement rather than adjustment .... did it work in the past?

Yes it did. Looks like we will have to live with it till we get back to a dealer. I was hoping there would be an adjustment somewhere.

Hi
There might or might not be an adjustment. You can research the model on Google and eventually find an install sheet that is specific to it. AS uses a range of hinges so you need to dig into the one you have. If the lid slowly moves, you might use the supplied tool (which you don't have....) to twist this. If it simply flops down, that sort of adjustment isn't likely to help. The "flop down" case is more likely a screw come loose or a broken spring.

Those Euro hinges have adjustments.... to align the cabinet doors.
Since you have nothing to lose, I'd see if I could pop that grey plastic cover off (clip at bottom?) and see if the spring has jumped off its perch. You can compare it to one that works in the next cabinet.
Probably want to remove the door for that, it's easy, a few screws.
Maybe this will be of some help. It's a YouTube video of installation, and about the 2:00 mark it shows the adjustment of the spring.

Thinking outside the box, if you have a cabinet that's rarely used but uses the same hardware, simply swap one of the hinges until you can get a replacement.
(They're pricy, $47 a pair.)

You can try submitting a question to Airstream online tech support and perhaps they can tell you the make and model number. Since you have a new trailer they should be able to do that. They may be able to tell you how to adjust it. Takes days sometime to get a response doing it online though, or you can try calling them.
If it needs to be replaced should be covered under warranty.

There is, if you follow the video link I alluded to in post 7.
Here's an idea. Let's pretend something broke and you'll get it fixed under warranty.....later.
Since the amount of 'spring' is adjustable, why not take the good side and increase the tension until it supplies enough "oumph" to hold up both sides. (It's not like one side closes!! )
I found this:

Thanks to all for the replies. I will have a go at adjustment per the video on Sunday (expecting rain all day). Hopefully I can also find some wifi to download … currently in the middle of Newfoundland surrounded by trees.
