Cracked door frame...question

I tore up the super ugly carpet in my AS and found that the floor has a VERY soft spot and has been repaired very badly. In trying to find the leak I have found that the door gasket has been installed wrong (new one is on the way) and that the door frame is also cracked.
The frame is cracked at the bottom on the latch side. I think water has been leaking in here and adding to the floor rot.
So the question of the day is...how do I fix that crack. Can it be welded? Or "L" brackets and JB Weld or WHAT?

Thanks
M

JB weld is a no, no. It is aluminum. If you have a welder that will weld aluminum and have experience doing it, go for it. I can weld metal but aluminum is a different monster. Mine is cracked in two places, and when I get the shell back on I'm taking it to a welding shop to get them to fix it right. This is my suggestion. And make sure they have experience with aluminum!!!!!!!

Find someone to weld it up for you. It takes a special rig to weld aluminum but there are a lot of guys out there than can do it.
