Chesler and Bargman locks

My '66 Tradewind has the long Airstream exterior Chesler T5 door handle and lock. It is worn out, not surprising it is 50+ years old. I am replacing it with a Bargman L100, does anyone have experience removing the roll pin that holds the exterior handles onto the square shaft? I want to put the Airstream handle on the L100.


Should I try and drill it out or disassemble both locks to swap the handles and shafts?
