Bargman L200 Lock

I have a L200 lock that is having a issue when I try to lock it. Took it apart and cleaned all the parts and reassembled. The slide that the spring and ball bearing sit in will not move when I try to unlock it with a key, screwdriver pointing at the piece in pic, it will move using a screwdriver to push the ends. It did the same thing before cleaning. The slide will move if I remove the spring and ball bearing. I have attached a pic of the slide I am talking about. Any help would be appreciated. The lock works great but has the issue trying to lock. I also need the #7 handle spring if anybody has a spare, pic included not sure if this may be part of the problem. Any help would be appreciated.

I sent you a private message. First make sure you have lubricate. White Lithium Grease spray is what I have used for years on these locks. It appears that their is no grease or lubricant in the pictures. Second option is to loosen the phillips head screw in center. Loosen it and try using key to move plate. You can always use a loc-tite to set screw.

Call me using the number in private message. I will help you with lock and spring.

Be glad to help anyone with their Bargman Locks

Montanablue,
I would like to thank you for your help on my Bargman L200 lock. After taking it back apart spraying white lithium grease and checking the ball and spring it is now working. I also noticed that the PO had two other keys made and are hard to turn the latch. The Bargman key works good, I guess copies are not as good as the originals. I still need to call you back and get two springs for the handle so I will have a spare. If you need help with a Bargman 100/200 give him a call. Thanks Jim.

Hi Rick, Just sent you an email regarding the L200. I am wondering if you have a replacement available?
Thanks, Jenn

I know white spray lube works well, but later on may dry out and give you same problems. On the ones I have cleaned up, I have used red wheel bearing grease (mystic or valvoline) it stays slicker longer and doesn't dry out.
