Our 1969
Caravel has a broken back hatch lock that cannot be repaired. The cylinder is broken off inside and the outer casing is badly cracked as well. That explains why the lock came with a hose clamp around it...
Anyway, I am looking for a replacement lock of the same era or a modern equivalent. This is a simple T handle lock, but the issue is the ctc measurement of the mounting holes on the original is ~1.75" whereas everything I can find is 1.5" ctc. I could probably make it work, but the hatch interior has a nice molded piece, and no matter what, it will just not look good.
Thoughts, suggestions, proper vintage locks for sale???
