I've got a
1967 Globetrotter, and the outside handle to the door lock assembly has gotten really squirrely. From the inside, everything works just fine. But the outside handle is almost stripped (for lack of a better term). i.e., when you turn it from the outside, it often doesn't actuate the latch mechanism, but simply turns freely. If you're persistent, if eventually "catches" and works. But I'm worried about the day it finally doesn't work any more.
I see that Inland used to carry them - Part# 22224, Lock L-100, but they say this is now discontinued, and refer you to a "modified Tri Mark Lock", Part #22320, which, in their words, requires some "slight modification to the door".
I'd love to get an original replacement - sources anyone? And if not that, can these things be disassembled from the inside and rebuilt?
Thanks for your help.
