Smile '65 Overlander Screen Door Bubble

I'm looking for the screen door 'Bubble' for our trailer. The PO put a piece of tin in the slot and we have been using it that way, but we're running out of bandaids and need a better fix.
Could someone post a picture of their similar model screen door to give me an idea of an interim fix? That would be most helpful and greatly appreciated. I've just found this site, and it is GREAT!

Thanks in advance for the help!

Joe

Hiya,

Maybe I'm too new, too, but what is a screen door bubble? Our coach is very close to yours in vintage and has an all original screen door. Let me know what you are referring too and I'll try to get a pic up.

I think he is referring to the flap that covers the opening where the knob from the outer door pokes through.

If that is the case, on your vintage the original was a hinged door. it folded in and clipped in place with a door latch spring wheel like on a cabinet. The catch worked to hold it open and closed. I have no pictures, but if someone can post one it will make sense.

I have a spare door w/hinge for my 1965 Caravel. Unfortunately, I do not have a digital camera, but if someone posts a picture of what the door looks like, maybe we both can confirm what tf looks like. The dimensions are 6 7/8" x 12".

TheNewKid - you are correct, that is the piece that I so ineptly tried to describe. It is the piece on the screen door that covers the handle of the outside door.
I have the locking knob, but the piece itself is missing and I have no clue what it's supposed to look like. Any pictures and suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
