2018 27FB Door Latch Won't Open from Outside

I've seen lots of posts about the handles pulling off from inside, but when closed, my outside door latch won't pop the latch. I can see that the inside door handle does pop the latch by pushing up on that little black notch. The outside handle doesn't seem to travel that far up. Last year it did, and I was having to push up on the door to get it to completely open. I suspected the upper hinge was loose and not allowing the latch to clear the barrel post. But, having just pulled it out of storage the exterior door doesn't open at all. Luckily I have a rear hatch to get in. But that is not a solution. Is there adjustability in the latch mechanism itself to realign the travel of the exterior door latch pull mechanism?

Did you get your door fixed?

It sounds like you’re saying that the little notch that moves when you use the handle is no longer moving enough to hit the latch or is it just not moving at all any more?

Hi, the first pic shows the bright metal piece that moves when outside latch is pulled, but doesn’t touch the black piece that pops the release. The inside handle moves that bright metal slightly higher. Do I need a whole new latch assembly? Or is there adjustability somewhere inside the mechanism?

Is it possible that the interior black handle is screwed on too tight ? When I replaced my handle I noticed if I put all the 3 of screws back and tightened them the exterior handle would not open the door well.

Also have you tried any t9 in there to help it move ?

Try spraying a little Boeshield T9 on the mechanism. Mine was not working very well when I brought it out of winter storage 2 weeks ago. A little spray and good as new.

The outside latch travels freely and fully. It's full travel doesn't move that notched bright metal piece enough to touch the black tab.
