1988 Excella Door Latch broken/piece missing

Just acquired an 88 Excella. There appears to be either a piece missing or broken off between the latch handle and the bolt mechanism. The lock and bolt mechanism function, but instead of using the handle to open we have to use a small screwdriver to operate the mechanism

Does anyone know what piece is missing/broken and where to get a replacement?

This is what my door handle looks like on my '86 Sovereign. I bought a new handle (the piece that has two kind of slits in it & is ready to break) from someone here on the forum. I can't remember how I found the link, but maybe you could put a shout out if that's the piece you're missing.Click image for larger version

That lock company went out of business.

However, there is a lock kit available that replaces it.

VTS has them but I think they are cast aluminum supposedly better than the stock cast piece.

Keeler Lock Exterior Handle Reproduction

I have a couple billet ones on my desk that should hold up better than the cast ones. Here is another thread on the Keeler Brass Co handles. If yours looks like these then there are options for replacing them.
