Portable APRS digipeater interest?
Thinking about making an APRS digipeater / weather station that I could take with us. Basically thinking a remote (as in not wired to the trailer) station, sending data to the actual digipeater (which would be in the Airstream) via an Adafruit LoRa on 433 MHz.
The LoRa is packet radio, but should be able to manipulate how many packets are sent to embed some Morse encoded (not encrypted) data like temperature, wind speed so it could be picked up on a non APRS HT if within 100-200m of the sending unit. Putting it out on the digipeater of course makes it simple to check the campground's temperature & wind when going into town or whatever.
Have done some of this (weather station, DireWolf, microcontroller <-> Raspberry Pi comm via GPIO pins, some packet) but haven't put it together. Thinking it could make a fun Github project if there's any interest.
