Cell Phone Booster

What is the best buy regarding the cell phone antenna booster? You can spend anywhere from $100's up. Open to some idea's and suggestions.

I have an active one for my truck from wilson electronics. Direct connection.
Cell Phone Antennas and Cell Phone Boosters at Wilson Electronics
Works when coverage is marginal. I believe there are threads on this already. The search function works wonders.

i've got the same wilson gear as cats...

antenna and signal amplifiers are 2 different things...

basically an effective signal booster makes those wimpy little micro amp phones function like...

the 3 amp bag phones of days past...

here is a site with pretty good info and both signal boosters AND antenna...

AlternativeWireless Cell Phone Antennas and Power Boosters Cellular Amplifiers | Wireless Extenders | Nextel Nokia Motorola Samsung Kyocera Ericsson Sony Qualcomm Sanyo

really both are needed for significant improvements

cheers

I have a 3 amp Wison repeater. I hard wire it to a directional YAG antenna on a 20' extendable flag pole. Found the little 12" magnetic antenna just didn't help much.

This is where I got mine. They offer package deals - antenna, adapter and amplifier, such as the one below for a Verizon cell phone. Just make sure your phone has a connection for an external antenna, and get to the correct adapter. Most cell phones have this connection, but some don't.
