Audiovox radio & cassette player

My radio works sometime sometime it don't. I checked the connections and did not find anything loose. When it is on it comes on when ever then turns off when ever hahaha! Heck of a deal. It is a RV-OR1 radio with a slaved RVM-CD1 cassette player Any Ideals on this fellows? If not does anyone know where I can get a RV radio and CD or cassette player? Many thanks for your help.

"Sounds" like it's time for an update. You can get a good AM/FM/CD radio with electronic tuner for under $200, and they are not hard to install. If you are concerned about the "memory" of the radio gradually running your coach battery down, you can install a simple on-off switch to kill power to it when you are storing the trailer.

Hi Tom,

My guess is it looks like the system here:http://www.airforums.com/photos/show...0&userid=17830, right?

Mine worked great when I first got it, then started having similar problems. In my opinion, it is the push-button on/off switch on the radio portion. When everything was on, even the cassette deck worked. It is out now. Like Terry said, there are just too many good choices available for under $200. My plan is to get something iPhone compatible with a remote.

Could be dirty controls or "cold" solder joint(s) if you want to spend some time playing around with it.

But an Audiovox isn't worth spending a lot of time over though, IMHO.

Thanks for the reply Vaughan. Hey that trailer looks just like mine and that radio does to. Hahaha Hey buddy you hit the nail on the head. My button works sometime sometime not. You push it go away come back later and its playing. Wife says its haunted. I say heck it don't work. Yes I probably will end up replacing it after I tinker with it until it drives me nuts. Now the wife would love a docking station for her Pod and such. Me I am simple radio, cassette. I am going to need to put a decent tube in though. I have the same as you probably two inputs for TV front and back. Can you feel me in on what I need to do to bring this up to date and still keep my roof antenna. So it will all work. Hey have a wonderful day tomorrow Vaughan.
