USB 2.0 and 3.0 Use the same connector but USB type C uses a completely different connector. USB 3.0 will pass 900 mA compared to 500 mA on 2.0; the data transfer rate in this application is irrelevant.
Type C is the latest iteration and the newest standard and with an adapter works with both USB 2.0 and USB 3.0.
Type C will offer the most power, shortest charging times where USB type 2.0 offers the least power and greatest charging times.
It makes the most sense currently to have type C jacks installed for future proofing, and with an inexpensive adapter, handle the greatest number and variety of devices, unless you opt to install a simple, inexpensive and easily obtainable cigarette lighter style jack which will handle an even greater number of devices and with inexpensive adapters continue to be easily upgradable to any future USB standard.
