Securing camera cable to roof

I am looking at backup cameras and have decided to go with a wired system. I don't want to drill holes in the roof and am thinking about "gluing" the camera to the roof near the center clearance clearance light and routing the cable over the roof and behind the stone guards in front. Has anyone done this and, if so, how did you secure the cable to the roof? I was thinking about a glob of silicone, etc about every foot.

I've read all the pros and cons of the wireless systems and I just want something reliable. Rear View Safety has a system that looks promising. If I run the cable under the AS, then I will have a lot of exposed wire running down the back of the trailer.

Use 3M VHB tape for the camera. Procure VHB wire ties from AM solar for the wire.

Got the back-up camera installed and did use the vhb tape, cable supports and cable ties. The vhb tape would not hold the camera on the slope near the clearance lights, so I removed the tape and secured it with 2 Olympic rivets. I got the rivet kit from Vintage Trailer Supply. If I ever need to do rivet repairs, I am ready! I sealed everything with The sealant supplied by Vintage. I am very happy with the camera performance.
