Satellite Hookup - What's needed - 2015 Flying Cloud

We are new at this -- purchased our 2015 27FB Flying Cloud a couple of mths ago & now I purchased the Winegard Carryout G2 Satellite Antenna.

I understand that I connect the G2 with a coaxial to the outside input for satellite.

We have Directv at the house so I was just going to take one of the receivers from the house while we are away in the AS - I guess this will work? That way I won't have to buy another receiver & be billed every month for it whether we are camping or not.

What else will I need to hookup & see the satellite channels?

Do I need an HDMI to go in and out of the receiver?

Will I need to run the out HDMI cable all the way to the TV?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Glenn & Sally

You will also need to supply power to the G2. For HDMI consider getting an expensive HDMI splitter and a couple of more short HDMI cables. Pull out the BluRay player and unplug the HDMI Cable. Plug that into the output port on the HDMI Splitter. Then from the output port on the BluRay and the Sat recv. plug those into the input ports on the HDMI splitter. I had one from Amazon that was a three into 1. I put a longer thin HDMI cable on the third input so that I could plug in my iPad. Typically they will auto switch the input to whichever one is active.

Model I had was a Kinivo 301BN.

Short term simply unplug the HDMI cable from the BluRay and plug it into the Sat RX.
