My computer can beat up your computer

This is like reading about who's got the better truck. Of course I know who does (me).

Since the percentage of Mac vs. PC owners is statistically even, and that's a much, much higher percentage than the general population, it proves Airstream owners are much smarter than the general population.

Apple does have the Iphone, Ipod, Imac, etc. They are good in the consumer markets just not so much in the business world. I have a couple Ipods and I got my wife an Iphone for X-mas. But I use a BlackBerry with BES. I don't hate Macs I think they are good computers. They can even co-exist on a MS 2007 server network.

As a lot of you know already I switched to mac a few months back and love it.

Now I'm kinda nudging my wife to it. I got her a 20" iMac for xmas. Yesterday I just put XP on it to aid in her assimilation ;-).

I have it using the built in wifi and the OSX picked up the network fine everytime. When I boot into XP it searches and gives up, searches and gives up. Sometimes a repair of the network connection fixes it, but most of the time it does not.

And this is a brand new clean install of both systems on a new computer.

Gotta love it!

You are correct.

"While an engineer-scientist (1965-1979), Metcalfe helped build the early Internet. In 1973, at the Xerox Palo Alto Research Center, he invented Ethernet, the local-area networking (LAN) standard on which he shares four patents. Now, 30 years later, more than 100 million new Ethernet connections are shipped annually for $10 billion."

Oh, I didn't know that you had a Cummins diesel in a Dodge...

Not only smarter, but most are better looking... and certainly have more fun!

I own both at home, and use both on a regular basis. At work I have a PC.

I prefer PC.

For various reasons.

But it's my preference, and a lowly one at best.

I'm always detecting Mac-elitism which I could never quite understand.

It's similar to "I drive GM and Ford sucks" and vice versa.

Can't we all just get along??

Ouch.

I have a Mac, and a PC. And I do use both.

But why should this PC vs Mac thing really matter anyway? They're just computers. It's like my Airstream. I love my Airstream. I think Airstreams are the best. But I don't get smug about my Airstream and extol its virtues to non-Airstream users, while pointing out deficiencies of that person's choice in trailers. That would be boorish, right?

Anyway, I still think it'd be nice to all get along. If you don't have a computer, and need to make a decision on which to purchase, either one would probably suit your purposes. Both kinds have their positives and negatives.

Of course it doesn't matter! I just hate to see a good thread die! And they pulled the global warming thread..

By the way, I am emoticon averse so I hope by not including a smiley in my last post didn't give the wrong impression. It was meant in jest.

Glad to see this isn't an issue with at least one Mac fan!

However, I do encounter plenty of comments where it's plain to see that it does really matter - to the point of cult-like behavior or fanaticism.

Too much of one thing is unhealthy (well... except for Airstreams of course). That's why I have both a PC and a Mac. To see what each is about. Makes the world go 'round.

Maybe it's time to have a glass of red wine and sit down and give my Mac a cuddle. Maybe it's feeling unloved.

Cheers,

At first it took sme time but would never go back o a pc. It is fast, never freezes up and turns on and off like a computer should. My dell never worked this good.

We started out on an Apple IIe then to a Mac. But, we had to switch because of business/work reasons. Both of our laptops and both of our desktops are Dells. They're good computers, not many problems, but they're NOT Macs. Macs ROCK!

However, iPods are another story. Give me a Creative Zen mp3 player any day.

We have a mac and a pc. Having been a long time pc user, I do like the mac but I have a blackberry with tethering which works great with the pc in remote and of course urban areas. Haven't tried it with the mac but have heard there have been issues with the mac. If it is true, am sure they will fix it at some point but it is sure nice to use the pc pretty much anywhere with the tethering.

I use Windoze PC and Other on a regular basis, not sure I would know a Mac if I saw one

Tethering with my Crackberry has been my main incentive for keeping a windoze laptop around, that and the fact that is what my company gives me to use. My personal laptop(s) is a Dell Inspiron Mini 12 using Ubuntu or an ancient IBM Thinkpad R40 running an earlier version of Linux. A BB can be tethered to a Linux machine but it is a bit of a PITA and requires some interesting work around, and doesn't always work the way you want. Hopefully some smart programmer type will write a slick add on program that will work in Ubuntu. I am a serious end user but have some issue writing code.

Aaron
