Main networks

When you travel away from home with a dish setup, do you lose the main networks, abc, cbs, etc? Don't care so much about local tv, just want to know if you can still get those network shows.

Yes. In order to get any service you must call Dish to let them know what zip code you are in.
Another thing. My dish will not work east of the Mississippi river. Can't remember if it has to do with the actual dish or the receiver.

Satellite providers use what's called "Spot beam projection", meaning your reception of local stations is lost after you move out of the footprint of your area. However, I think you still have access to networks, ala, CBS New York, NBC Los Angeles as I recall.
