My wife and I both have mac laptops and will be full timing soon. We would like to know what would be the best antenna for us to buy to pick up wifi in rv campgrounds. I have read a few posts here but wondered if there is anything new or outstanding that you might suggest...
We use an Omni 12 high gain antenna and ethernet router from Radiolabs. RadioLabs - Radio, Wireless and Beyond -
We can connect both of our laptops. Works well for us. Give them a call. Very good customer service.
We have been using a WaveRV II for the past year and are very satisfied with its performance. It has a separate wifi card with its own external antenna. It increases wifi reception by about ten times. I'm not sure if it is Mac compatible. Their website is RadioLabs - Radio, Wireless and Beyond -.

The link I provided above shows our WaveRV (Radiolabs) antenna and it is compatible with our Mac. Installation of the Mac version of the software was a little clunky, but it worked. The beauty of this antenna system is that no additional power is needed if the USB cable from the antenna is plugged directly into your Mac or Windows laptop. Our experience is the same as Brian's, the antenna really increases WiFi reception.
