AT&T 100G for $55

AT&T upgraded their 25G for $50 plan to now offer 100G for $55.

That puts them in the same range of 2G per dollar as T-Mobile 100G for $50 and VzW 30G for $15.

Will the SIM work with Airstream Connected?

Thanks,

Do you have any links for this?

I will stop at the local ATT store in the morning and check it out.

Thanks,

I suspect so. Just know that you have to go to an AT&T store to activate this, evidently.

The folks at the Mobile Internet Resource center did a video on it. https://youtu.be/CMRJm5T-JpI

It’s the best deal going for internet direct from AT&T or Verizon. Some 3rd party resellers might fix you up with a leased grandfathered plan but those have their own complexity.

Great video link thanks . . . she does a good job with the overview and is definitely excited about this being a good deal.

FYI the links below that YT video:

All similar plans -- just off the presses: https://www.rvmobileinternet.com/gui...le-and-sprint/

Thanks again, I will update tomorrow after visiting the ATT store.

I got this SIM yesterday at an ATT store for my Pepwave. The store associate game heard of this plan, and even after showing him the ATT webpage was doubtful of such a good deal, and claimed the webpages were sometimes wrong/outdated. I asked him, politely, to dig deeper (as advised on the video)...and he sure enough found it on his system. He checked my Pepwave Transit Cat 18 IMEI in his system, agreed that it worked and was verified, but was doubtful it was a full size sim I needed. I assured him it would. It does. Works great. So persevere!

Update --

The local ATT store was helpful, although they were not that knowledgeable about the specifics of this plan. The main limit for us was that the plan will not let our iPad Mini become its own hot spot. Also 5G cell signals are spotty in our location. Might work better with a new 12.9" iPad Pro being used as a stand-alone "television" IMO.

Have a good weekend,

Hey Steve . . . this option is definitely on our radar, but too much of a leap right now. Please let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

I stopped by the ATT store today and got mine, it’s activated and works fine. I just gotta wait another few weeks for my camping trip but that’s one more item taken care of.

Hey Peter,

I went with the Nighthawk, mobile hotspot, it has it’s own phone number for data. I have been using my phone as a hotspot but it’s limited to 30gb of hotspot where the phone has 100gb for normal use. With the Nighthawk I added an additional 100gb I Use the hot spot mainly for streaming TV and checking e-mail. I use Apple TV, Mac-Pro, IPad Pro , and my phone is 12 max-pro. The phone is not the issue, it’s the other 3 devices that eat away at my data. I’m hoping this will be the fix till something better comes along, we shall see. My eyes are a little old and struggle to focus as I watch tv on the iPhone.

Thanks, did you buy it outright at the ATT store, or do you pay monthly for that? I see $17 per month in one place. Do you need an antenna outside the aluminum shell? Can you use it at home also, or is that a hassle once it is set up for the trailer? Would love to drop our home cable TV -- getting very expensive. Thanks.

Thanks for the updates. So, regarding the following whittled-down grouping:

Is this grouping what you will be using, on the road, to watch TV and streaming stuff like Amazon Prime and Netflix?

The 13" iPad Pro screen seems large enough for comfortable viewing for one person IMO [in fact I am using a 13" MacBook Pro right now].

Back at home, if you take the Nighthawk into the house, will you be watching TV on your Mac Pro, and what is that screen size, or can you pump the Nighthawk's signal into a larger regular TV which is WIFI-enabled? [like our large screen LG television]

Would love to ditch the home "cable TV" setup, but will the loss of cable's download speed and volume hurt the viewing experience on a larger television?

Thanks,

Peter
