Winegard Antenna for FM Radio
Greetings:
We have a Winegard power antenna in our 2008 Safari, but no television (by choice). What I would like to do is use the antenna for FM, as we are often far from stations. Has anyone had any experience with such things? Or, ideas? Plus, the radio (which is the standard issue, not the upgrade) has a wire which can be connected to a "power antenna" of 0.1 amp; any experiences with this?

The "power antenna" wire on the radio is a source of (radio) switch controlled power to raise and lower a motorized antenna. Unless you like fireworks of the 12 volt-kind, best leave that wire alone!
If you have an old 75 ohm transformer ordinarily used to match coax to the screw terminals on a TV antenna, you can use that to match the impedance of your antenna to the radio.

Not worth the Effort
Greetings All...
I finally tried the above, which is a 75ohm impedence connection to coax, and hooked to the Winegard. The reception is almost exactly the same as with the built-in antenna, and of course you give up entirely the AM reception. So it's not worth the effort.
Besides, who wants to listen to radio these days? Actually, I do pay attention to the news, rather like a mouse watching a cobra...
