I have a 22' CCD that I'm looking at possibly mounting an LCD TV. I've seen the factory installed model mounted on the wardrobe bulkhead over the galley counter, but that's not for me. I'd prefer to mount the TV in the back, over the under-utilized desk, so it will be close to the antenna and 12 VDC plug (See attached photos - red lines denote possible mounting points. I hope to use an inverter while Boondocking.

I'd like to mount the swing-arm bracket on the interior wall or ceiling at a structural rib, instead of the bathroom bulkhead.

Has anyone tried this type of mount?

Would it require special mounting hardware and would it be sturdy enough to support about 25#?

I have a 26" flat screen lcd with a stand that I put on the top of my base cabinet next to the antenna hook up. When I travel I just unhook everything and put the tv back in the box which I put on the floor between our recliners, and it stays safe during relocation.

It fits perfectly! and no worrys if a wall mount would hold it

We currently carry a portable Toshiba 9" AC/DC color TV/DVD combo (MD9DL1). We have to set up and unhook it every time we travel and we stow it under the desk. If we could mount a swing arm with a flat panel LCD TV with a built-in DVD, it would be much easier to set up, and a 19-22" screen is better than a 9".

We welded up a polished Aluminum post that is bolted to the top cabinet and to the base cabinet and also riveted it to the wall in our Excella. This made for a very strong support. Then we modified and bolted a standard Wal Mart flat screen mount to the support post.

A Sanyo 19 inch flat screen TV was then put on the mount. This setup allows the TV to be swiveled to whatever position we want, including swiveling around to face the dinette table.

In the bedroom a standard wall mount was used to mount another 19 inch Sanyo TV to the wall between the bathroom and the bedroom. The bolts go through the back of the medicine cabinet for wall support.

A Sony Directv receiver feeds the system

That's a nice set up! I don't think I have to counter/cabinet arrangement to replicate it.

I'm wondering if the swing-arm is connected directly to the structural rib, as shown in the conceptual photo, it might support a 19-22" LCD .

I am very interested in finding out if you can do this( mount a tv to the wall or ceiling. I would guess that you couls ask someone like Inland RV they would know Good Luck

I would like to mount a small LCD TV in the front bedroom & there's a cable and power source. However no mount or holes for a set up.

The wall abutts the shower so I am not sure how you are suppose to
mount it to that wall? There does not look like any space to get in there and work.

Any suggestions or thoughts?

The wall on the back of the shower is pretty securely fastened but can be removed pretty easily. There is just enough clearance on the back of that wall for fastener clearance without hitting the shower pan.

IMHO this is much better than using a rib to support the TV. I would be very concerned that the vibration and weight of towing with a TV attached to the rib would eventually warp it. I've seen them build these things and the ribs aren't all that hefty.

When I had my 22 I did use the little desk a lot... but then you all don't put on makeup do you? I had my laptop rigged to be a TV, but had I wanted a bigger screen, I probably would have chosen to simply put it ON the desk, then pack it away when traveling. I'd have probably wanted a book or two to raise it a bit.

Thanks Paula! This set up is as solid as a rock. No doubt I made the right decision to stay away from the aluminum. We can even use the desk now for something besides holding our old portable 9" TV. I hope to add an A/V FM transmitter to send the audio to my stereo system for "Surround Sound".

I am currently working on turning my desk are into a wardrobe. If it works out than I will remove my existing wardrobe and go to a queen bed.

Paula makes a good point about using up desk space ... some of us only wish we had a desk (most guys ain't gonna' talk about whether we put on makeup!!!) - but it'd sure be nice for a fly tying bench rather than the folding dinette table. Maybe someday.

Hi, like most of the previous posters stated, I store mine in an overhead storage compartment and set it up on my Credenza. [not mounted] Before and after pictures showing television locations. The picture on the left shows my TV sitting on the original Credenza; And the picture on the right shows my TV sitting on my new Credenza. [as per remodel]
