upgrade TV

I have a 28' international with a 19" sony front tv I would like to change it out to a 32" Any suggestion on brands and models? Will the wall mount need to be changed as well? Also the JVC player needs changed out? The one that came with the trailer will play cd's and dvd's but the DVD's play only thru the speakers and the audio and visual do not work on the tv? any suggestions would be appreciated The TV works well (front and rear TV's) with cable TV but will not work with the antenna the antenna was changed out and still no reception Thanks

The Sony TV (and bracket) should have a standard 100 x 100 cm mounting lay out. Just make sure your bracket does and that your new TV does.

Hi

Spend a bit of time looking at where the TV is mounted. In a lot of cases, there is not enough room for a TV that is much bigger. You may just have to move the mount. In other cases chopping this or that is required.

I upgraded the electronics but I separated the trailer audio from the TV and went the way of HDMI and a 32" TV. Panasonic players are fantastic choices and usually have high ratings.

Selecting TVs is an ongoing activity as the technology changes almost annually; however, 32" models seem to be behind. The best specs are 1080P and 120HZ refresh rate. Vizio has a full array in a 32" size. Samsung UN32J5500 is rated highest in CU. If you decide to keep the same wiring setup, you will need to study the rear connection types to see if it is possible as you look at new players. Most everything is now HDMI. You will probably want to consider running an HDMI cable. For sound I have a sound bar underneath the TV but consider your situation. You may not have a place to put a sound bar. I play music CDs or iTunes files through my radio head unit- replaced that too. It has a built-in player and iPhone connection as well as hands-free phone. The JC support suggested I de-integrate to make it easier between TV and audio. Hopefully you have an inverter?

No inverter I wish I Have the 2005 model In not sure went the inventor came on them but this one doesn’t I went with the 32” Visio and it fit fine the antenna worked great with the new tv the old 10” Sony will not pick up anything ? The old Sony was a dc model and the new Visio is an ac model There is a dc plug under the table I think i could get and investor and plug it the to run the tv if I’m without shore power? The small rear sharp will not pick up Chanel’s as well it also ran on the cable tv from the Rv park but not in the antenna

The cable from the RV park is probably an analog signal which is how TV used to be broadcast. Now broadcast TV is digital which is why your new Visio works fine but the old Sharp in the back doesn't.

The new Visio probably draws very little current so you may well be able to use a small inverter ( any auto parts store should have one). Somewhere on the Visio it should say what the wattage required is.

TVs use a standard VESA mount. 100 x 100 or 200 x 200.
Also there's sort of a standard screw, M-4, M-6 or M-8.

If the hole spacing for the 32" is the same as the 19" you're good to go.
You can download the manual and check.

The other way around.

We changed out the original Sony (which was not digital-ready) to a Samsung 19" in a 2006 19' Bambi ... did not have to change the mounting arm hardware at all. We like the Samsung. Much lighter and thinner ... and does not weigh heavily on the arm like the Sony did. The only down side is that you can't get the smart TV in that small of a Samsung. At least when we got ours a couple years back. Good luck!

Hi

Cable TV at RV parks is very hit or miss. I would focus more on a good smart TV (or an add on box) that will let you stream stuff via the internet. That is a much more generic solution.

I had a 32" from my old trailer that I wanted to mount, but it interferes with the credenza. I left the old TV and now just use a laptop anyway. I try to boondock most of the time so the TV is just a power hog.

Good for you on the replacement. My ‘06 was a lowly model and the Sharp TV was there but everything else was stripped out. I had as many questions as goals on what I wanted to do. I first bought a higher rated but cheaper Insignia 24” TV as a straight replacement then moved on to a wall bracket, a tv in the bedroom, HDMI splitter and HDMI cable running. There is a crossover conduit/tray between the wheels under the floor for cables to cross sides. Anywho, there are lots of options. I added an inverter later. Mine is not set up to run the camper per se but just accessories. That in itself is a decision to make. In the end I moved the Insignia to the bedroom and bought a 32” Samsung for the lounge area.

I went to get a converter for the Sony to move it to the rear and found a $89.00 RCA 19” DC that just fit the old wall bracket and the power plug from the 15 “ sharp even fit no rewriting just plug and go fit perfect on that short wall it was lighter in weight than the sharp The converter was nearly as high as the tv plus got a digital ready tv Click image for larger version

Hello! We have the same drop down tray in our '05 Safari. We've been placing our TV on it, but then it's hard to move around the bed. How is your TV bracket mounted? We have the shower behind that wall and are wondering how we might be able to mount a TV...Any suggestions welcome!

Not an exact answer, but I have seen people mount a larger Baltic birch or similar strong thin ply wood to the wall then mount the TV mount to that, this helps spread out the weight

Just upgraded my front tv to a Visio 32 HD tv. Took longer to reprogram unload software etc than to replace unit. Mount holes the same, even the audio just plugs in so if you want to use the built in amp you can.

An easy upgrade if you want 1080p and a great picture. My motivation for this is that I have a lot of movies on a hard drive and using a Pi-4 as a media server which will not load to the older tv.
