TV Antenna Info

I not too familiar with the broadcasting changes coming up, but will this make our antennas obsolete?
I' ve been trying to get info but its unclear to me.

no.
antenna will still work; you'll just need to have either a digital receiver in your TV, or a converter box.

I recently bought a new Toshiba 19" digital TV and get perfect reception with the original antenna. Just make sure you push the signal booster button on the wall antenna connection plate or you will get no signal.

Same for us---replaced the TV rather than find a space for a box in our little buggy, works beautifully, antenna is still needed to help reception.

So if understand well; a recent tv will still work fine with the antenna or I have to purchase that converter box.

correct...if the "recent" tv has a digital tuner.

If your TV has a digital tuner it will pick up the digital signal. If it does not have a digital tuner, you will need a converter bos.

As far as your antenna, any antenna which picks up current UHF channels (those above channel 13) should work just fine. We have had a Visio TV in our '65 Caravel for over two years and have been enjoying digital, High Definition over the air TV using the antenna that originally came on our Caravel.

Note.......The numbering scheme for digital channels is slightly different. For instance, channel 2 analog will be on channel 2-1 on digital. Some channels have several new channels, like 4-1, 4-2, 4-3 etc.
