Tivo on the road...

Ok, I just bought a series 1 Tivo on eBay that I am going to add 2 160GB hard drives, 512MB CacheCard and upgrade the software. That should yield about 344 hours of video. I was thinking how nice this video archive will be when travelling. Anyone else out there take their Tivo along when travelling?

Andy...

This begs the question... where is the 52" plasma HDTV going to go in the Bambi?

lol... well I am thinking a 19" LCD/TV. I need to do some research on power consumption. Once I get her finished this summer, I was planning on taking a laptop with DVD. But that would not work with TIVO. Although I think I can access the files on the TIVO from the laptop in MPEG 2 format. Of course, how much TV will I really want to watch when camping. Not much hopefully...

Now a 2 way satellite internet connection would be nice!

I've got 2 Series 2 Tivo's hooked up that I use all the time. One of them hacked with 2 160 gig drives. I take the hacked one with us along with a spare dish that I have when we go off on long weekends and watch all the stuff I have been Tivo'ing over the last couple months. The spare dish lets us continue to watch DirecTV when we are just goofing off and not boating or reading.
