Surround Sound

Does anyone know how to have your satellite tv work with the surround sound? My DVD player works with surround sound but not my DirectTV. Thanks

What are you using for surround sound? The stock Sony deck?

BTW, your trailer does not have surround sound, only 2 channel stereo.

We have a 2013 Classic. I put an HDMI switch in line before the factory splitter. The output of Blueray and Dish are separate inputs to the switch with output going to the existing splitter. From there things work as before, and we get either to play through the sound system. Not sure if this is what you are looking for or not.

How is your Direct TV connected to the television. The sound to the stereo goes from the tv back to the stereo deck. If you are connected with coax or Hdmi you should get sound, just like when the dvd player is connected. If you are using a video only feed you wont get sound.
