Speaker wiring

I just noticed there is no sound coming from the left speaker in the back of the Airstream no matter what the source is. Since I did not know where to look first for a solution I looked at the wiring coming from the subwoofer since it is the only one visible. I noticed one cable is disconnected but I think this might be a separate issue. How could I find the source of the problem and fix it. As for the connection for the subwoofer it seems to be crimped together and I can not put it back together. As anybody changed those connections with something more durable.
Thanks for your help

If you haven’t already, I would suggest you check the actual speaker to see if both wires are connected.

How do you access the wiring. I see no screw in the front of the speaker

I found an old thread explaining how to remove them.I will try that first but that still leaves me with the subwoofer connection problem

Just in case, remove the speaker grill. I used a small screwdriver or a pick to pry or pull it off. There are 4 small tabs holding the grill to the speaker. Then remove the 4 screws to lower the speaker and check to see if the 2 wires are attached. Not sure I understand your subwoofer problem.

Finally found the time to fix the speaker. Sure enough both wires were disconnected. I can not say I was surprised when
i found out only 3 screws were used instead of 4 to hold the speaker in place and that they probably did not make pilot holes at the right place to start with.

You would guess they have template for that but I guess no.

For the subwoofer I was probably not clear enough, I want to find out if anybody changed the crimp connections to some other kind of connections.

The best connection would be to solder them and cover with heat shrink.
But, most people still use the crimp connections. Yellow means it's for 12 ga. wire, and you can find them at a neighborhood hardware store.
The biggest problem is most people don't use a real crimp tool and just smash them with pliers. A crimp tool is not that expensive and will last forever. The one pictured is $7.

Airstream production line is just sloppy, it has to keep moving, so errors just slide by.

Do yourself a favor and get a ratcheting crimper. Not that much more and you will use this over and over again.

Also get the one Mollysdad mentioned above for stripping the wire.

Speaker wiring

The Amazon ratcheting crimper makes much better crimps. I seem to have acquired a bunch of them for regular insulated lugs, powerpole fittings and coaxial cable. Never can have too many crimp tools

sub woofer replacement

anyone have a wiring diagram for a sub-woofer hook up. "Collins IC100" out of a 2015 Int'l. one of the RCA plugs broke off in the female and I will need to add a new woofer or get a new motherboard for the old one???
have the 2 RCA jacks which are no problem, just the 3 smaller wires are ??? as to what they hook up to. (assume they go to speakers)
thanks in advance for any help.

Subwoofer Collins ic100

I also would like a wiring diagram for my subwoofer, replacing old Sony stereo with a Jensen. I have extra rca audio outputs on the Jensen that can go to the left/right audio jacks on subwoofer, but the blue, black and white wires from subwoofer where they go?
Presume white to ground, red to 12+, and blue? (Maybe amp remote?)
Thanks
