Being electronically challenged
, we had problems getting everything to work correctly, and the stereo system reconnected. Techno-geek son who hooked up the new TV said we needed some piece of something.
We went into a Radio Shack, explained the problem, and purchased a small item which the salesperson then installed/wired/hooked up for us (no charge) and we were on our way. All has worked great ever since.
There apparently are transition pieces, for lack of a better word, for when technology changes. Radio Shack may be a a good resource.
