Replace Polk with Klipsch

Hello all, have a 2016 Pendleton that came factory with a Polk audio head unit PA450UM/PA4A. It's ok, aside from the Bluetooth issues others have reported. But seeing how airstream has started going with Klipsch, was wondering if anyone has replaced their Polk with the Klipsch KMC 2 (one airstream uses) and was wondering if it is just an easy swap out with regards to cable connections. I've seen others replace their head unit with fusion, etc. But was really curious about the Klipsch. I can't find much info on it and it doesn't seem to be for sale. The older model is but not the KMC2 Marine unit. Has anyone had luck upgrading this Polk unit? I've seen threads from several years ago but nothing in the last year. Wondering what the new options are. Thanks, Matt.

Klipsch used to be a maker of good mid-range speakers (I still have a pair of Forte's) but since they were bought by Audiovox their name has been applied to a full range of audio equipment to try and capitalize on the name recognition. Their parent, Audiovox, is a manufacturer that makes the stereos you see (or used to see) on the displays in Walmart, K-Mart, and other discount stores.

Kenwood and Alpine still make some of the better head units. Since the AS isn't going to get wet inside, I wouldn't focus on a "marine" unit if I really wanted a better sound experience.

Remember, to get the most out of the head unit, you will need to upgrade the speakers and possibly the wire to them. You may want to add additional amps too. You may even need to add additional speakers to get a truly upgraded sound experience.

Thanks for the info. I'm not set on any one brand, just looking for the best solution that will basically fit in the same spot with minimal modding. Eventually I might do a full audio system upgrade, but for now looking at just a basic upgrade, e.g. head unit and maybe speakers, that will be fairly easy swap outs. Any suggestions on specific models? Thanks!

I have abandoned trying to make the built-in speakers work and now using a Brane Audio portable speaker.

Brane is based in Austin. Great product!

All our 'traveling' music is on the Mac.
We just got a pair of external computer speakers.

Yes, the table does improve audio quality.

All our 'real' music is on vinyl.
