Repair/Replace DVD player

I boogered up the DVD tray by slamming the cabinet door into the tray. Now the tray won't go back in after fiddling around with it. I'd like to take the DVD player out to repair or replace it. Exactly where are the screws that hold the DVD box or how can I just remove the DVD player to fiddle around some more? Enclosed is a photo. (Sorry that the picture is upside down it wasn't when I posted it.)

The following is from another post on the forum. I don't take any credit for the info - just reposting it.

On the side of the structure, you will see 4 screws with caps on them. Remove the caps and the phillips screws will be visible.

You can remove it from there.

If you are going to take the unit out and apart anyway, I'd spring for a new DVD player and get the next model up that Sony sells. The next model up has built in Wifi to use all the associated apps. The model that ships with the Airstreams (as of the 2021 model year at least) is the wired-only unit. They are the exact same size.

The units can be found for $99 or less at Best Buy.

I did the same thing to mine a few years ago. As I recall it was simply held in with Velcro on the bottom. I was able to take it apart and re-engage the gearing that was knocked off track.

It was a two beer job

The best way to separate Velcro is a metal spatula. Genius!

Thanks everyone. I bought a new LG DVD/BlueRay player with WIFI streaming at Walmart. I found the phillips head screws and removed them. The jungle of wires at first was a bit confusing, but all I needed to deal with was the HDMI cable and the power cord. EZ PZ. I ran a knife under the velcro tabs at the front and the old player which was then easy to remove. Back in business.
