Recommendations - Electronic stores
I'm wanting to buy an in-dash DVD receiver, and was curious where folks shop for their electronics. I'm from Canada, so up until recently many (most?) of the stores were off-limits.
I've heard of Crutchfield, and am familiar with the big box stores like BestBuy...
Where would you go to buy something like this dvd receiver?
Thanks in advance

I'm not sure if guy was having a bad day, or if Best Buy in Canada doesn't sell that type of equipment, but it wasn't impressive all the same.

You can imagine the look they gave me when I wanted to replace my cassette deck!

I would suggest Crutchfield. There are cheaper sites, but at Crutchfield you will get a much higher support level, an excellent web site and super service. They are the Land's End/ LL Bean of the electronics world.

You might give FRY's a try. I have found them to be the best price of all...They have stores in some of the larger cities and have a pretty broad selection. I have purchased various electronic equipment from them and have always been pleased

Did you try Future Shop, MacFrodge?
Yes, I know that Best Buy owns them now, but the selection is usually different.

Crutchfield is good if you have the technical know-how to install car audio equipment. They have a great tech support to walk you through install questions and a great online site for research. If not, do you have any local car audio stores? We have a bunch around here that are chains and do a good, clean job installing.
