Radio with Alarm Clock?

It irritates me that my old Lexus had a radio with an alarm clock - not a particularly useful feature in an SUV - but that my Airstream does not.

Wouldn't it be nice to be gently awakened by music in the morning? Other than replacing the sound system - any ideas for adding a feature that automatically turns the radio on at 6:30am ?

get a cat. they even work if the power goes out! if the cat doesn't get you up then teach it to turn the radio on to get fed ;-)

there are some very small clock radios that would come a close second.

Get four kids! 2.5 to 9 years. They always get up around 6:30. But there is nothing soothing about the way they wake you up!!!!! and sometimes they can put you in a really bad mood. But they will make sure you get up. Even if it's just to push them out the door.

When I'm home, I use an alarm clock, to ensure I get up in time for work.

When I'm camping, I don't want or need an alarm clock. Get up whenever I wake up, sleep whenever I'm tired. The only times that matter are check-in time and check-out time. In the times I've been camping so far this year, the songs that have awakened me have been birdsong. Isn't that enough?

If you really need a clock radio to wake you up, load some music on a iPhone, and set an alarm on it.

What do you think? I know it's not what you asked for but, it is pretty cool providing it is worth the money to you. Phillips makes it and a few other models. This is the one I have in the house. Have it set to wake me with a gradual light and birds chirping. The Phillips model number is HF 3485.

We have our iphone plugged in...there's an app for that The app we have gives you lots of choice of sounds and such. Usually ours plays birds quietly chirping but we had to change it...we now jump up when we hear the real birds chirping at the break of dawn while we're camping.

All the years I drove for a living I had to be up at 1am or 2am. I retired a year and a half ago and threw out the alarm clock. Guess what. I still wake at about 2am.

Also, there's the Native American method of drinking a lot of water before sleep. Just hope you wake up. Sal.
