Radio/shortwave for a 1972 Airstream?

Hey fellas,
I have a 1972 Safari and everything works well but it had a radio of some fashion in the cubby below the central control panel. The radio had wiring for the speakers as well as the antenna connection but it was removed and I don't know what was there to fit in said space. Was it a standard car stereo or was it an AM/FM/shortwave radio? I have no idea. It would be nice to have one with shortwave capability but I can't find any that fit with in the space or that have 12Volt capability. Any ideas?

Pics are always a help. May jog memories.

My parents 1975 Silver Streak had a LEAR AM/FM/FM-Stereo with 8-track player. Automatic channel search. Still working as new 20years later.

I don't think Shortwave was popular any more for RVs than for cars. Won't say it wasn't present or optional.
