Radio Powers on Randomly

2017 FC and twice in the past week my radio has powered on randomly. No pattern or event repeated. It’s hooked up at home on 30a.
Anyone encountered this? Time to update the radio system?

I really haven’t used mine. I’ve noticed it on a couple times. No volume though. It’s a tough call with a 13 year old on board. He may have turned it on.

Does the radio have an optional remote control?

I've had situations where devices with remote control functions have been turned on by other nearby radio transmissions or other remotes being used nearby.

I don’t think there is a remote. I did do a hard reset. If it happens again I’ll remove the faceplate for the time being.
All the online research indicates the radio is failing if the reset doesn’t work.

On my 2018 the radio turns itself on every time the shore power is turned on, or there is an interruption in power.
I now take the face plate off unless using the radio.

I would be taking a second look at this. I had a bad battery getting drained several homes before I discovered that the radio ( inside a covered overhead) powers up each time 12V power is restored.
Charged the battery at home and dead again the next day

In my 2022, every time I turn on 12v (take it out of storage mode), the radio power turns on. There is a cover on it, so it's easy not to notice. I just put it on my checklist for things to check...

Seems power surges are a common factor. I’ll start removing the face plate. Put a newer system on the update list.

The head piece airstream and most others use are Car stereo’s. While many OEM radio’s will return to “last mode” when powered (turning car on) aftermarket like Sony are usually programmed to turn on. That being said if there’s the slightest drop of shore power, (which happens, sometimes w see all our home lights just dim and barely notice) that shift from shore power to battery back to shore power could very well be culprit ie: you could be chasing a power grid issue wouldn’t dig to deep if pulling faceplate off works

My radio is designed to power on anytime the trailer's DC is on. They were designed this way to keep their memory powered up.

The only other thing that I can think of is, is perhaps when the unit is off, it is really in a standby mode (with power to the chasis) and it temporarily loses with power or ground and then reinitiates startup? In both AS I have owned I installed a separate power switch to prevent startup every time the master switch is turned. Both Sony and JBL have this problem.

Our 22’ Sport has a Sony AM/FM/CD player that will drain the battery if left intact… because is constantlyi in “standby”mode…. no way to turn truly turn it off…except to open it’s front-face. (Being an automotive radio it ha a face-plate designed for removal to discourage theft. Removing…or partially removing/opening the face-plate prevents it from drawing any power. I keep telling myself that some day I will open the cabinetry and install a power/supply switch …but so far…we simply open the faceplate)
