Problem with Sony MEX-DV2200

Earlier today the radio stopped working. The display works, there is a beep when I change stations, and the sub-woofer makes a sound when the radio is turned on.

When I turn the radio on, there is a slight hum - as if the CD/DVD drive is engaging.

I have tried resetting the radio with no success.

The radio is original in our 2011 FC. Am I missing something, or is the radio toast?

Thanks in advance

The first question I would have is there audio out with other inputs? Have you tried playing a CD, iPod etc?

Sounds like the radio is toast as it powers up and beeps.
Newer car radios are replacable not serviceable.
I am replacing the Sony radio in my Airstream because I want a Sirius and the radio is too old to support satellite radio. Cost for the JVC radio is $149.00. If I didn't want Sirus the same radio is $129.00. Access to the radio is good and it appears to be a DIY replacement. You might have to have a Sony radio to support the amplifier and other addons.
Maybe yours is under warranty.

Could be that the system has changed inputs to a unused channel. As mentioned above try the other inputs, such as the DVD player, CD etc. I've had times when there was a bad hum in the system that goes away at the next stop. Two diferent buttons on the face of the unit change inputs on my unit.

I've tried both the Aux and Mic input without success... I am reluctant to put a CD or DVD in the drive...
