No TV reception with Winegard antenna

Don't get any channels when those around us all have reception. Have two year old HDTV and a one year old power booster. Not sure how I can trouble shoot this beyond checking the connections.

The power booster provides DC power to the antenna. The actual amplifier is in the antenna head.

You can get up on the roof and check for DC power on the connection to the antenna itself with a meter. There should be 12v. Winegard includes troubleshooting information in their installation and operation guide, available here:

Try the Jack antenna replacement for the Winegard antenna head. It is less directional and comes with an amplifier that can be added if needed.

What did you mean by a one year old power booster? The winegard antenna has an amplifier built in. If you put another booster in line, the amplifier in the antenna is not getting any power and will not pass much signal. The winegard antenna amplifier power supply is, at least in my trailer, in the wall box near the living area TV. There is a switch on it, and an LED that indicates that power is applied. The wiring in my trailer had been modified such that the cable input had been converted to another output to drive an outside television. It took a while studying the manual to sort it all out.

I am famous for forgetting to push the little power button to the antenna, although I always seem to remember to shut it off. Do you have a green power light?

If you are using the satellite then you don't use the power booster. The power booster is only for using the antenna for local reception. I have the automatic Wineguard and once I am plugged into the electric power source, I flip the dish to on and by the time I get other things settled, the dish has found the right setting. I don't remember when I used the power booster last, maybe 4 years ago.
