No audio for DVD player
We tried using our DVD player in our new FC for the first time last night and were not able to get any sound. The television stations w/sound worked fine, but no sound with the DVD player. Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

If you are in a late model airstream (2016, 2017, etc..) The DVD player is connected to your Samsung TV(s) via an HDMI cable. This connection delivers both Video and Audio to the TV.
The MAIN TV in the lounge (not the one in the bedroom, if you have 2 TVs) is connected back to the Airstream clarion stereo via a separate pair of RCA audio cables (red/white cables). These Audio cables are literally spliced into the TV speakers. You cannot play audio from the TV to the stereo unless the TV speakers themselves are playing sound.
So to hear the DVD, you need to play DVD audio through the TV and then back to the Stereo. DVD audio will come out of the TV speakers AND the airstream clarion stereo. You must have the TV speakers on and at about 50% or better volume for the clarion to pickup the sound and re-broadcast it on the airstream speakers.
Here is the "procedure" that you need to do to broadcast DVD audio through the TV and back to the airstream clarion stereo:
1. Turn on main Samsung TV in the lounge and select the HDMI source associated the DVD player using the remote.
2. Turn on DVD player, load a disc, etc. you need to see the DVD content on the TV. if you don't try a different input source on the Samsung TV until you can see the DVD content.
3. Turn up volume on TV itself to about 60-70% volume. You should hear the DVD sound coming from the TV speakers themselves - this is important.
4. Turn on the clarion stereo, select AUX input associated to the TV
5. Turn up volume on the stereo using the volume dial until you can hear the DVD audio, which is played through the TV and back to the stereo
If that is not working for some reason check the RCA (red/white) cable connections on the back of the TV, they need to be plugged in.
Goofy, I know. Good luck.

we replaced the TV with a new one with HD resolution and a built in DVD player.
it also has a audio out the at we run into the AUX input on the receiver
thus we can now play the TV or DVD through the rcvr speakers and turn off the one in the TV
the std tv gets i low res input from the rcvr as it goes through a down converter ( located behind the rcvr box)

Well, we hadn't used the trailer until lately so we didn't try your suggestion until today. Unfortunately we get no sound or channel from the TV now as well. Any other ideas
