LCD Tv has a 12v converter... Can I use it on 12v?
I have a Magnavox 19" LCD Tv, and I was looking at the power cable for it which has a converter box that takes 120v and outputs 12v to the power input on the Tv.
The TV power input is marked "DC in", and the converter is 120v input 12v 5amp 60w max output...
I feel silly to ask, but is it possible to use this Tv in my Airstream on 12v if I can make/find a 12v input cable?

You bet you can. I do that with my Polaroid TV / DVD player. Just be SURE you get the polarity correct.
There may be such a cable out there, but I just bought a plug from Radio Shack and a 12 volt extension cord that has a built-in fuse, and with a little little soldering and shrink tubing, I am all set.
Doing this makes it that you don't need an inverter just to run the tv ... plus you'll save some smallish amp-hour losses, 'cause you lose some with the inverter and then you lose a little more with the tv's power supply / rectifier system ... so you'll save a little battery juice. All around, a good deal.

Of course you can, I have been doing that for years with several TVs & several Airstreams.
Go to Radio Shack to buy a plug that fits your "cigarette lighter" type socket and a connector tip to fit your TV. Make certain to use the correct polarity before you plug it in. (Most tips can be rotated 180 degrees relative to the cable to change the polarity)
This is far more efficient than going from your 12v battery to an inverter to make 110v then going through the TV transformer to take it back down to 12v for the TV.

Awesome!
Made sense to me, but electrickery is not my strong suit!
Now, I also have a Samsung LCD, but that one says 14v input....

A 14v unit might be worth a try on 12v ... might not work, but it's probably not going to hurt it, unless the current increase causes some overheating ... the extra current draw at 12v might blow a fuse, possibly internal to the tv ...
Some electronics are more sensitive to voltage variations than others; I've tried a variety of things on 12volt that are not set up for 12volt use - some have worked, and some have not. Clearly the best strategy is to run a machine on the voltage that the engineers designed it for! YMMV.

Owners Manual?
Please consult owners manual prior to operating unit.
If a manual is not in your possession please go to manufacturers online information or consult store where purchased.
Without model number and appropriate relevant information any or all advise could cause damage to unit or Airstream. And we don't want to hurt the Airstream, do we?

I have the manual somewhere...
Now i have the TV worked out, I need an antenna(The PO took the Dish off the roof) and a DVD player that runs on 12v!!
