JVC Radio keeps turning on

We notice that when we turn on the power to our trailer the JVC radio turns on. We turn it off and later we turn off the power to the trailer. Then, the next time we power up the trailer the radio comes on again despite the fact that we turned it off previously as per the above. Makes no sense to me. Off should mean off? Any thoughts?

That is normal , the battery disconnect switch powers up the radio when set to use and powers the radio off when set to store.

If it bothers you, simply remove the faceplate from the radio, and place it in the supplied storage case.

Drove me crazy — it comes on LOUD — until I read this tip on Airforums. I didn’t even know about this “faceplate” phenomenon.

Stopped all the noise. Easy to do, too.

Mine has a small toggle switch in the cupboard next to the radio, it just turns off power when we're not using it . Absolutely no drain to the system and I don't have to look for the faceplate.

Never thought about removing the faceplate.
I considered running a wire directly to the battery to make it the same way a car stereo is installed- a constant voltage to keep the memory, clock, radio station presets, and tone control settings and a switched to power it on and off.
What I'm doing:
Every time I turn on the use/store switch and the radio comes on I just turn it off...
That may well be the very simplest solution...
I usually don't notice till after dark when I am ready to go to sleep that the "display mode" is on and it is flashing blue.
Sometimes I don't even notice this until 2-3 days at a campground...
Sometimes I never notice.
A better question in my mind is if there is any way to keep the clock setting on the microwave. I guess not really because every time you disconnect from 120 volts and reconnect to 120 volts the microwave clock starts again at 12 o'clock.
I never set the time correctly and just deal with the wrong time displaying.
We have our cell phones and the clock in the tow vehicle...
