JL MM50 failed

The screen has failed on the JL MM50 radio.
What other make/models have people replaced the radio with?
Prefer to just use same size hole but can make larger if I have to.

The stereo continues to function, but the screen is messed up? (...and so far not too messed up to see what it's displaying...)

If so, I think that gives you plenty of time to select a replacement.

It looks like a problem with the LCD itself. That radio is a weird form factor, I'm not sure why they went with it... maybe for the large display?

it still works, and I will keep using it till it dies but I do not understand why Airstream would not put in a single din/ double din radio and make it easy to replace the head unit .

Now I have to find a radio and cut the hole bigger.

The radio is a marine radio that Airstream uses. Itís nice because itís hardened and somewhat weatherproof. The screen itself might be replaceable through JL Audio directly. The screen usually just plugs in much like a cell phone screen. The hard part of such a repair is separating the screen from the chassis - they usually Ďsnap iní and arenít really designed to be removed. Or, if you feel like dropping the $$ you can replace it with a brand new one of the same type (no hole cutting, etc.) for around $450.

Yep looked at those options but looks like only the mm50 fits that hole, all others have to be enlarged.
Would have made more sense to have put in a standard din radio size. Really do not need weather proofing on an inside radio
