IPod connection

I have a Bambi 16, 2004, with a Sony that does not have an AUX. Is there some way to modify the Sony to accept my IPod or must I replace the Sony? Thanks for any help.

You can get a VHF adapter that will broacast your ipod on a normal radio frequency (it plugs into a 12volt jack and your ipod output plugs into it) but they do not work that great. The only other way I know of is to replace the radio. You might find an electronics nut that can put in an aux. input jack but it might be easier and cheaper to replace the Sony. The good thing about the adapter is (if you purchase a good one) you can keep your ipod charged up also. I bought one for my car at wal-mart automotive section about $20.00.

You can get after market things like the Jupiter Jack that will plug into your iphone, etc that will wirelessly broadcast to your FM - 101.9 - but the sound isn't that great - I am replacing my sony (cassette!) this week - you can get a Pioneer at WalMart for less than $100 that has the auxiliary plug-in . . . worth it.

I was just trying this tonight. If it is the CDXCA710 you need an aux input adapter XA-C30 or C40. The adapters don't make sense for the $.

I am thinking about replacing the 710 with a newer sony xplod which should just plug right in. However, I use the camper to camp and would rather spend the $100 and time on an extra trip this summer.

You could use an FM modulator which connects in between the radio and the antenna. Doing so enables you to play an ipod via a wired connection through the radio on a frequency like 87.9

I've tried the lot - Jupiter Jacks to the fm adaptors with my Sony that came with my 2001 Bambi - it had a sony epuipped with a cassette player (anyone remember cassettes?) - none of them were satisfactory really - jupiter jacks are meant more for phone calls, so the sound was pretty awful - ended up yanking the old player out and replacing it with a CD/ipod player for pretty cheap - and replaced the speakers at the same time - all for less than $100.00 - just be patient for the right deal. The sound is really, really, really nice in the little Bambi now . . . next project: replace the antennae on the roof with a Winegard satellite dish . . . I know, don't say anything!

Being part of the "little trailer" club, I want to see this when you do it. Please post photos.
Best of luck with the project.
