Installing circuit filter for Voyager rear camera

With a recent tow vehicle upgrade, my Voyager rear view camera quit working (WVOM541AP). The fix is a GM camera filter bought on Amazon that pigtails out to crimp connectors that splice in to the camera line (PMWBUT). Any advice on how to install this? Voyager, and AS tech support don't really give the details. I'm assuming that I pull the camera, and splice the filter into the line, and then insert that back under the skin. It sure would be nice to hear from a knowledgeble source before I do this. Is the filter bidirectional as well? Any help from the forum is much appreciated.

We had the same problem when we bought our 2019 Sierra Denali. I bought the filter you described but didnít want to splice the already tight line on the camera so I searched a little more and found that furrion makes a pigtail that connects between the Airstreams umbilical and the trucks trailer connection. It works great.

Installing circuit filter for Voyager rear camera

Thanks for the insight. What I found was that the Furrion 7 way adapter does not work with the 2021 GMC platform. They are in the process of developing a new adapter, but not quite there yet.

What? I canít believe GM would make additional changes to the electronic platform of these trucks to the extent of having to modify the external filter, yearly? Unbelievable

I have an update on the pigtail I bought from Furrion, I would not recommend it. Ours only lasted about a year and a half. When I emailed the company their response was that the warranty was for a year and they recommended I find a 12 volt source on the trailer to power the camera. Obviously the person that responded to my email had no clue what I was talking about. I did follow up with an email but they didnít respond.
Iím frustrated with them and GM for this very odd problem we have to deal with.
Have you resolved your camera issue?
