How To Install Cable Box 2013 Intl Serenity

Hey anyone out there have a quick answer on installing a cable box in a 2013 23 ft Intl Serenity? I know I can attach a cable to the outside box of my airstream, get cable reception that way, but it is limited. Since I am at my house, I could easily hook up a cable box. The question is can I hook it up and leave it sitting on top of the installed DVD player that came with the unit. I have a Samsung TV and DVD player that were factory installs. I do not just want to attached the cable box to the extra HDMI plug. I want to hook the cable feed to the outside of my trailer than have a cable box inside the unit. Anyone have some ideas?

Not sure of the floor plan of your trailer, but somewhere there will be a wall plate with two cable jacks with a short loop of TV cable connecting them. They will be labeled "sat in" and "sat out", I think. The "sat in" side is the other end of the outdoor cable connection on the trailer, usually near the utility hook-ups.

Hook the cable tv supply to the outdoor connection and the cable box to the sat in connection.

Trial and error solution finally. Haven't figured out how to access cable at a couple different RV parks until now. The duplex loop as near as I can tell is just for Satellite and remains connected for Antenna over air and cable. the antenna booster button on the panel behind the fridge (on our 2010 27FB Int'l) is pressed to turn the green pilot light off. Gray coax cable attached there is attached to TV Out on the set top box and TV In on the cable box connected to the coax panel where the gray cable had been. Set cable box to channel 3 and TV to channel 3 (or 4 depending) and finally my wife has her first Law & Order fix in a month. All is happy in our little aluminum house.

Figure this might be helpful to y'all...but it also is here for this idiot to refer to next time...cables on the back of a TV just look like so much spaghetti to me.
Question: better to be a successful pessimist or a failed optimist?
