How do I hook up my tablet to the TVs?

I need help with my onboard TVs. We're also not particularly electronics savvy. We have a FC 25, 2020 version. We have two tablets and two phones, both Android and Apple. Our three pleas for help:

1. I can't figure out how to play something from a tablet using a USB C (or lightning)-to-HDMI cable to hook up to the one of the TVs that has an HDMI port. But the other TV doesn't have an HDMI. That makes me wonder if when we hook up a tablet to the one TV, will it on the other as well?

2. Both TVs have USB A ports, so can I go USB to USB to play something from my tablet?

3. One of those TVs (the one in the bedroom) has no HDMI port, and the USB port is labelled "Service Only." Does that mean that I can't use the USB port on that TV to play something? Is there something I'm missing that would allow me to play video from my tablet to that TV?

Some smart TVs will use Apple AirPlay if the TV and an Apple laptop/phone are on the same WiFi network. Many major streaming services do not allow their downloaded videos to be played over AirPlay. I believe there is a Android app that works like AirPlay, but have no experience with it.

Using a high speed HDMI cable, Apple devices with a USB C socket can be connected to a TV with a device like:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...e?ie=UTF8&th=1.
Our RV's TV (a new Samsung smart TV) wants to have USB C power connected to the device. Each TV will have its own peculiarities!

I have no idea what to do with a TV without an HDMI port.

Not familiar with your particular electronics and trailer... however, to display the signal you provide to an HDMI port you typically have to change the input/source to choose the HDMI port as the input.

For instance, on the remote control there will be a button labeled input (or source) and you press it once, twice, three times to toggle from TV, Input 1, Input 2, etc.

I'm not aware that a USB port on the TV will allow you to "feed" the TV with a video signal.

This is one of my pet peeves with the "Delivery walk around". Nobody asks, "Tell me how to play a video on my TV." (I'm just as guilty)

Is there a USB port in the overhead cabinet for electronics?
Might try there.
Also, tablets are unique since their port doesn't supply the 5v. for a USB. (I'm out of my element here) I know you can't simply plug in a thumb drive to an I-pad and watch it. Of course there's an adapter for that.

I believe it will. People plug in thumb drives, ROKU's, etc.
You just need to select USB as the input in the menu.

Hi

Can I feed HDMI into one TV and watch it on the other? Nope, the HDMI only goes to that one TV.

Can I feed the USB-A connector on the TV with video? Not on any TV I've ever seen.

Do some tv's not allow video from a tablet? Indeed, there are a whole lot of TV's that are set up this way.

What AS puts in this trailer in that model year often is different from what they put in another trailer in the same model year. They also change "same model" TV's year to year. In years with parts shortages, they just might switch things mid year. All of that makes somebody else working out what you have pretty tough. What they have on their TV likely is not what you have on yours. Many setups (unlike yours) run "HDMI" tv's in both locations ....

Ill tell you what works for me. (I have an iphone 11 and a 2023 International)

Plug this...

https://www.target.com/p/apple-light...95#lnk=sametab

into the lightning connection on the phone. Plug an HDMI cable into it and into the HDMI port in the overhead locker above the dinette. As someone else noted, make sure the input source on the TV is set to HDMI. That port also feeds the bedroom TV.

Good luck!!!

Do you have wifi in your rig? If so, there is an attachment you can plug into the Television's HDMI port.

For Android, it's called Chrome cast. I use this all the time at home. You bring up your favorite streaming platform on your phone (Amazon video, YouTube, Hulu...etc. even Facebook)

I'm sure Apple has the same kind of device. I'm not an Apple user, so I don't have the knowledge for their products.

Tablet to TV

Go to Best Buy and purchase an adapter that has the connection that plugs into the tablet. On the other end it has a female plug for an HDMI cord. This will also work on a laptop. Turn TV on and select source and select the HDMI port you are plugged into on the TV. Should work. Stream movies.

I believe you can, but there are exceptions.
https://www.samsung.com/hk_en/suppor...n-usb-devices/
The USB port may not show up in the menu unless a device is plugged in.
I know I've put images on a thumb drive and taken it to a neighbor's home to play. Even video, but it must be in a format such as MP4.

As someone noted, an HDMI might be more practical since it goes to the second TV. Here's a typical adapter from Amazon.

Feeding both tv's from tablet

I disconnected the DVD player from the HDMI switch(input) under the mounting shelf. Then I ran a HDMI cable from my tablet to the HDMI switch. Make sure the HDMI switch plugged in (power) and the tablet will feed both TV's simultaneously. In order to get the sound over the stereo I have to have the TV in 'lounge' area on.
If you want to leave the DVD player connected you'll need an additional HDMI switch.
You can just connect the tablet directly to the TV. I grew tired of moving tablet around, which is why I rewired.

I am extremely surprised that one of your TV's does not have any HDMI ports. HDMI ports have been standard on TV's for many years. And Airstream has been wiring HDMI cabling to both TV locations for many years, as well.

That would mean that you cannot play DVD's to that TV via the on-board DVD player and are limited to just viewing Over The Air TV via antenna. Or are you saying it doesn’t have an available HDMI port?

Any chance you can provide the Manufacturer and model of the TV’s in question?

I use an Apple usb c to hdmi multimedia adapter and a hdmi cable to the hdmi port on the tv. Select input on the tv until you get a picture.

We got this adapter on Amazon which works fine, in addition you can charge your tablet while you are streaming (which consumes a fair amount of power during the length of a movie for example):

Anker USB C Hub, 553 USB-C Hub, 8-in-1 USB C Dock, Dual 4K HDMI USB C to USB Adapter, 1 Gbps Ethernet USB Hub, 100W Power Delivery, SD Card Reader, Dual HDMI USB-C Dock for MacBook Pro, XPS and More.

Yes, 2023 rigs: No DVD player, 12VDC TV with HDMI port in entertainment cabinet routed to the TV.

On our CONNEXX TV there are additional HDMI Ports where you could rig a Roku or Firestick, etc. streaming device. With a streaming device plugged into the otherwise dumb TV you can most likely connect and stream from an iPad wirelessly.

An added benefit of plugging in a streaming device that supports Bluetooth, is routing TV sound to the stereo system.

Note: the USB port in the entertainment locker is only powered up when the stereo is on. At least on our rig. Why? Who knows.

I seem to recall that there's an issue with a I-pad connecting to other devices. I have a dongle that has a Lightning connector and a USB A, but it won't read a thumb drive because the Lightning doesn't supply the 5 v. So there's another port on the dongle that takes another Lightning/USB from a computer, etc for the 5 v.

Not sure if a Lightning to HDMI has the same issue.
Someone who's done it will know.
