DVD sound via TV Speakers

There is a line level cable into the TV from the dvd/cd player but I cannot remember how to have the audio from the Sony DVD player come from the TV speakers instead of the front/rear audio system speakers.

Is it possible?

Yes, but why? The sound is better through the speakers, and you can select front, rear, or both. Just curious.

Because when one is not sitting under the speakers mounted firing down from under the rear overhead, the volume must be LOUD to hear the DVD playing.

There's also an issue with the minimal quality speakers....I need to upgrade mine, and that's a project for completing before summer.

I went through this exercise with AS tech. And they had to get in touch with Samsung (mfrs of TV).

Bottom line: Unless I'm mistaken (and this happens with great regularity), Sony and Samsung will not talk to each other WRT sound coming from the TV when you don't use the ceiling speakers.

At least this is the situation in my 2011, and I suspect yours is similar.
