Does anybody need an original 1978 Motorola stereo with 8 track?
Like if you're doing some meticulous restoration of a 1978? It's your for just the shipping charges from Arizona. It's pretty heavy, so it's gonna be $20 - $30, I'm guessing.
Let me know before next Tuesday, when it's going to be recycled back into a tree or something.
(BTW, the replacement Furrion DV3100 is completely awesome!)

Thanks!
This looks very close to the one in my '67 Safari. If you could post closer pictures of it I would be very interested. Thanks, Ed

You wish is my command!
Let me know what else I can tell you about them.
The receiver part needs a pilot light or two, but it does work. The 8 track part is completely untested.

78 Motorola owners manual
I have a 78 Sovereign, and was fortunate to have all the original documents. If you need a copy of the Motorola manual and schematic, PM me with your address.

Big Ed might need info on changing out the pilot lights, if he needs the system...
Thanks!

FYI - for potential buyers -
There are resto shops for vintage auto radios that can probably fix it up & replace the drive-bands etc. on the 8-Track, & there are even so places that still sell 8-Tracks out there. Look in Hemmings & other classic car magazines for their ads, then try contacting them to see who will work on it for you.
There is also a place called Woody's Custom Shop in Costa Mesa CA & online & selling at their evil-bay store which sells adapters for vintage/classic car radios to use USB & 3.5mm etc. to add on/connect i-stuff, smartphones/Pandora, CD/DVD players, etc. via the back of the old radio's connectors (via the antenna jack I think). So you can also update this vintage classic to fit your modern needs.

I have the original Motorola AM/FM/8-Track car unit that was in my 73 Porsche 914-2.0 when I bought it used from the original owner in Dec. 75, for which I will do both of the above as a part of the resto of my car. I also still have a scad of old 8-Tracks! .... but probably the tape/oxide is too old to play .... clack-clack!
Cheers!
Tom

You stand a better chance of making more money if you put it on eBay.

I'm not trying to score big. I'm gonna toss it if nobody needs it. I've got waaaaay too many Airstream "spares" in the garage as it is!!

That's cool. We're the type that needs to make money to fix things up so that's why it was my first thought.

Guess What ???????
Don and All, I also have a component Motorola 8 Track player that I purchased new in the 1974 Panasonic turntable/stereo system that I got back in the day when I'm was fresh out of the Army. I clean it on a regular basis and it still works like new... LOL! So I do have plenty of tapes that still play. I do play them fairly often when out in the garage cleaning Airstream parts. The one in my trailer will play but looks like it's 49 years old.... oh wait... It is! So this one will be getting a good home! Ed

It's been promised to Big Ed. He's just waiting for me to get home from our trip and find a large enough box to ship it to him.
Thanks for your patience, Ed!

No Problem ! It can wait until you pack it up and let me know the cost to ship. Ed
