Ceiling speakers?

Morning, all.

I have a 1960 Tradewind I am taking apart/putting back together in my driveway, and I am in the closing stages of wiring it up right now, and want to make sure I've covered my bases before I stitch her back up.

My model did not have speakers originally, and I am a little leery of becoming the "PO who cut into the aluminum endcaps," so I've been toying with the idea of installing some 2-way ceiling speakers in the spots where I they originally mounted some "extra" 12v lights (not a full 12v system in my park model).

I am no audiophile, but would love just to be able to listen to music while hanging out in the camper. How bad would it sound to have two center mounted ceiling speakers, one in the front and one in the back of the camper?

Thanks!
Brian

We've had SOB trailers with set-ups similar to that. For general music listening, they worked fine. Sometimes you get songs that are left-channel or right-channel orientated, and they can sound a bit weird if all you can hear is one speaker. But, for the most part, it'll be fine.

If you wanted to, you could mount two small speakers at each location front and rear, and then have both left and right channels in both the front and rear of your trailer. So, instead of say, one 8" speaker, you mount two 4" speakers at each location. Just a thought.

Our Airstream speakers are in the wall.
Our previous sob trailer had surface mount speakers on the ceiling.
