Bad coax to bedroom outlet
Bought a small TV for the bedroom. Drilled the holes, installed the articulating mount and, NO PICTURE . The TV has a signal strength meter and it confirms no signal. I ran a line from a known good outlet in the lounge and hooked it to the new TV. PICTURE. Sooo, the TV is good, the coax to the bedroom is bad. Options are return the TV or run new coax under the AS and up through the belly into the appropriate spots. Returning the TV is looking pretty good right now but I'm curious as to what my risks are blindly drilling into the belly in the out rigger area? Anyone know what I may encounter? Not worried about gas or plumbing, just electrical. Or, anyone have another suggestion?
Any suggestions appreciated.

Maybe the cable has a bad end. Mine did. Replaced the connection on the end & it worked. Not sure if yours is the same as mine, but I'd try that before I ran a new line. It could be something very simple like that in the wall connection.

At this point I will try anything and did not think about the connector itself. As I stomped around the AS for a few minutes, it appears I can snake the cable along the inside of the AS and eventually make it to the bedroom connector. I'm going to test the connectors first. Thanks for the idea.

Check the connector at the amplifier end too. What's the layout of the 28? is it like my 30 Classic where the amp is streetside up front and the BR outlet is curbside on the back of the shower wall?

Check the amp for the board itself too. It has a "splitter where the "extension" is run from the board to the BR. I had one in my SOB which broke some of the solder connections in that mess behind the amp plate.

Another test for the cable would be a continuity test. Make sure the center wire is good from end to end, and the braid too. And, make sure they are not shorted together. This will confirm the cable is good or bad. We hope good.....

Appreciate the input. The 28 does have the main amp street side in the living area and the bedroom unit is curbside, next to the shower. The cables check out ok as did the connector so I'm thinking my problem may be with connections at the main amp itself or the bedroom hookup. Its supposed to rain here tomorrow so I will spend some time finding the issue. Hopefully the problem will jump out at me.
Anyone know why there is a cable in and a cable out on the bedroom hookup? When the amp is on, I'm getting almost 13 volts across the + and - on the bedroom coax. Is that the amplified signal or power for the circuit board?

Hmmmm...my outlet in the BR just has one cable jack and one 12 volt power port. Are you seeing that on the back of the plate assembly, or do you have 2 cable ports on the front of the plate in the BR?

Two on the rear, one on the front along with the 12 volt port. Just found my Winegard installation/operation paper. Tells how to test, etc. I should have looked for this in the first place. I'll post again once I figure out the problem. If it is like most things around here, I probably caused it .

I believe cable out should be empty and it would be used if you were going to add another extension to another TV. I think cable in should be filled with your present connector.

Becky, thank you for making me use my head and the rest of you for offering much better ideas than snaking a new line. Time to eat some crow. A couple of weeks ago I relocated the antenna amp and disconnected all coax. I reversed two of them when I reassembled everything. That created today's problem. I'm usually pretty good at labeling things like this but apparently not this time. TV now works great.
Thanks again.

Yeah, glad you don't have any new holes to patch....
I hate when that happens.
