After considerable trouble in finding a bad cable from power amp to antenna causing bad signal to TV in just acquired 1999 Excella, now searching for information on best way to replace this cable. Any suggestions or advise will be appreciated.

I would suggest an electrical installers trick of using the old wire to pull in the new. Disconnect the old at both ends. intertwine one end with the old and new. Pull on the other end until the new has a tether long enough to terminate.

Before you remove the cable remove the antenna and check the condition of the cable end. Mine failed at the connector because the copper center wire just corroded off. Hopefully you will be able to get enough cable free to connect a new end.

It is highly unlikely that the cable itself has failed.

Antenna Cable

The trick of using old to pull new cable through just won't work on the Airstream. Cannot budge from either end and have I tried. Also cutting off connector ends have been done and no luck. Outter shield is okay but inner copper wire is open. Having spent the day trying with no luck, now looking for a way to route another cable to back of refrigerator and up to room and across. Don't like it but all I can come up with. Thanks for your suggestions and any other thoughts. let me know. Tom
