I've not installed one, but since nobody else has responded,I'll just say it doesn't appear too difficult to me. My backup camera (factory installed) is just wired to the running lights for power. You have to have them turned on for the camera to work. To me the hard part would be mounting it without messing things up.
Maybe your local guy knows something I don't.
Sorry I can't be more help. You might want to call the factory and get their opinion.
