'85 AS Reno - stereo question

Hello all...I've renovated an 85 Airstream, but smack in the middle of the front endcap where there used to be the slide down tambor door thingys (technical term), there is now just a shelf...its a design idea.

Anyway...hanging from above the shelf are the stereo wires which are hooked into a car stereo...and I like music...music is good.

But...I dont want to look at the wires, and all I need as a plug in to play tunes from my iphone.

Does anyone have any idea:
1) how one might find a small adapter/port/pod thing that can hook into the car stereo wires
2) how I can reroute the whole thing somewhere else (or just cut the wires and tap in somewhere else)

Hope that makes sense...basic question is how can I run iphone music through my speakers and ditch the car stereo receiver.

Thanks!

Answered my own question...have to either use a car stereo, or get an amp and run a bluetooth to control from the ipad or phone...

Many new car "head" units now have USB inputs on the face to use MP3s. Handy, cheal, and re-recordable. Shoudl eb able to find one as low as $80.
